Pray for Becontree Church Dagenham

September 29, 2026

Please join us in praying for Becontree Church in Dagenham, led by Rob Newham.

– Praise God for Sam Norman (our Pastor in Training) and Aleah Dryden (Ministry Trainee in Schools Work) who have both started on staff in September and are already a wonderful gift of God. Aleah is working with 2 local schools, and hoping to engage with three others. Sam is deepening his love of God and His word with Crosslands, and has already been serving as elder using his teaching gifts to teach the Bible, but is now full-time.

– Pray for us to work together as a team. It is good that we have clearly defined areas, but also good when we can support and encourage ministries that we aren’t leading. Pray that our planning would increase the amount that the church members can do, rather than replace it.

– Pray for our door to door conversations. Lately there has been quite a lot of apathy, but we are trying to trust that God will use our mini-watchman sentences (“Those life pressures (work, family) resonate with me, but can I encourage you to think about eternity too?”).

– We would love to have one more elder. Please pray that God would raise him up, and that we would identify and invite them.

– Pray for our focus particularly amongst primary-aged children and young families. As well as the schools work, we offer age-appropriate teaching, monthly all age services, and Friday family nights (twice a term). Pray that many of the families we engage with regularly at the school gates and who live in our area (24% of those in Barking and Dagenham are aged 0-15yrs, which is the highest proportion of all local authorities in England and Wales!) would hear about us, and come along!
