Just a glance at the Apostle Paul’s ministry shows that partnership is the powerful gospel dynamic behind real progress. That’s exactly what Co-Mission is all about – a network of churches committed to working together to achieve far more than any of us could do alone.
We believe that this sort of partnership is the key to us reaching London for Christ. The Co-Mission network has an exciting and ambitious vision: to plant many more churches that reach London for Christ, but this won’t happen if only a few try to do everything. We need an army of people working together to drive this mission forward.
That’s where the Co-Mission Partners Programme comes in. It’s a way for all of us, even those who feel they have little to offer, to combine our small resources and play a part in something far bigger.
We’re looking for people who will pray, who will give sacrificially to support this work and who are ready to be used.
We really believe that to reach this needy city, we need people praying, giving, and going. We can’t do it without all three of these critical components. Although the costs of church planting are significant, it’s been clear to us over many years that money isn’t the only thing that drives church planting. We need people trained in gospel ministry who are ready to lead and support new gospel churches across London, and we need people praying fervently for revival.
We want everyone to pray for the growth of God’s kingdom in London and for all that we and the churches do to contribute to that.
Planting churches in London often needs a significant financial investment. We want everyone to consider what they could give. Many giving what they can that will add up and help us to reach new areas with solid gospel preaching churches.
Jesus tells us “the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few” (Matt. 9:37), which holds up even more starkly against the backdrop of 9 million Londoners. We need people to prayerfully consider whether church planting, ministry training, or joining a church planting team is something they could be involved with. We hope to enable the next generation through financial support and training to lead new churches around the city.
Here are some stories of people Praying, Giving, and Going. They are partners with us in reaching the city. We pray their stories might inspire you on how you can get involved.
On Thursday 20th November we’re hosting our very first
Co-Mission Partners Evening, a time of singing praises to God, prayer, thanksgiving, and stories from across the network – the very best of our REVIVE session, with opportunities to see how you can keep playing your part as a Partner in praying, giving and going to further the mission of Co-Mission in London. There will also be food, time to mingle, and the chance to hear first-hand from those God is using in remarkable ways across London. We believe it will be a rich encouragement, and we would be thrilled if you could join us.
So why not Partner with us, and many others, to reach this needy city with the saving gospel of Jesus Christ through the planting of healthy gospel churches in more areas and more often, all for the glory of Christ alone.
